Delivering Tomorrow's Housing Today

The INTEGER Millennium House, completed in September 1998 provoked an enthusiastic response from both private and social housing providers. Yet many of these visitors were left wondering how the INTEGER principles embodied in this first demonstration house could be applied to the commercial market.

The five INTEGER Pilot Projects built since that time have provided a vehicle to answer these issues. They have provided a test-bed for addressing issues of design, technology and procurement. The learning curve has been steep, the process sometimes difficult and the product varied. However, the enthusiasm of client, design team, contractor, suppliers and residents has been almost without exception a common theme which has enabled difficulties to be overcome.

INTEGER partners are developing a range of mainstream projects that will incorporate much of the innovation proven in the pilot projects. Theses include projects led by Bromford Housing Group, North Hertfordshire Homes and Your Homes Newcastle. These projects will continue to be supported by research, education and communications programmes supported through the INTEGER partnership.
